I think that those who are getting carers allowance should be able to get prescriptions free like other benifits

Those on carer's allowance can get free prescriptions etc. by applying for an exception certificate. Although not really designed for carers the application form is available online and can be filled in reasonably easy. I just did it for my daughter and got her letter of entitlement as she is officially my wife's carer.

@spen369 Thank you for your advice Rob :)

Spen, if you are a carer then check out our article about carer's rights so that you can learn about what you are entitled to.

Hi Folks,

The Diabetes Nurse recently said that the Government may well change the rules regarding Free Prescriptions to Diabetics! Only those who use Insulin and some Diabetic Tablets (those tablets that could cause Hypo's) would get prescriptions Free.

Has anyone else heard of this?
