Hi all, I'm really discovering this site today, I hope that's ok. I was wondering if any of you know of any mood stabilisers or other bipolar medicines that don't make you gain weight? I'm on lithium and it works well but I'm hoping to talk to my doctor about finding a better fit and one that make me fat. Any advise is appreciated! :)

@BiPoMe I've heard that lamotrigine doesn't cause weight gain, but i've never been on it myself, so I'm not sure. Maybe other people on here can speak on it.

@twomes I have had great success with Lamictal, the only mood stablizer that doesnt cause weight gain. It is now the second best for treatment in Bipolar

I’m on lithium about 30+ years. I haven’t found that I have gained weight whilst on it.
