Hello everyone,

Do you count carbs to make it easier to match your insulin requirements with your diet? Or maybe you have another tip to make it easier?

All the best,
Marina

Hi marina,  I count carbs and then know how much insulin to take but I did a course in my local diabetes centre to learn how much my insulin to carb ratio is, and also what my correction levels are.  Ask your care Team about daphne or similar carb counting programs x

good luck! It is working for me and my diabetes was nuts! Lol

lippymk1 x

I think carbs counting has been the hardest part for me... I feel that my whole life has to be monitored, I can't be spontaneous anymore... anyways, I am also trying DAFNE and it does work, but again I don't like keeping track of everything, but well, it is what it is...

I do keep track of everyhting, I'm a bit OCD and I prefer it that way, but it is true that sometimes I dream of not caring about what and when I eat and be more spontaneous as @applecider  says

Hi I find carb counting difficult as my bloods up & down so the carbs I eat don't match insulin dose to what my blood sugars are. Confusing

We carb count for my son religiously and we change his basal and bolus settings but he is 11 and running high all the time I'm pulling my hair out at the moment he has been as high as 17.5 and only down to 6 this last week
