My Lichen Sclerosus is gone

TL;DR: Iodine!

I noticed a discolouration on my penis years ago. It spread across the penis and down the shaft.

It became a problem when it started to kind of scab over. It developed a kind of solid blister on the underneath, where the seam joins the helmet.

Multiple clear STI checks over the years, just told each time "no idea", and so it was given time to spread. The blisters grew larger, and then grew in a ring all the way around and nearly joined on the other side.

What's worse is they were also rough, so would cause my wife pain after sex.

Saw a dermatologist a few years ago who diagnosed it and told me there is no cure :(

Here is the good news!

I had to have an operation to destroy a kidney stone. They put a laser up my pee hole to disintegrate it.

Over the next few days I noticed LS my ring was changing. The hard blisters were softening and deflating like old balloons. One day during my morning wash I noticed the skin had rolled up like pieces of string. When I washed it, they just rolled off. The skin underneath was perfectly normal.but the hard lumps on the helmet seam remained.

My wife and I hypothesised they might have applied Iodine during the operation. So, now a year later, we bought a large bottle and I started to applying it after washing in the morning and before bed.

Yes, it stung a bit :)

But it worked! After only about 5 days the LS there is now almost completely gone, and no side affects at all (no loss of sensitivity). It's about 1/10 it's original size. So small in fact I've decided to stop using iodine for now.

Update: I've only just woken up. It occurred to me I hadn't checked this morning. I haven't put any iodine on for a couple of days now, but it's gone! No LS blisters anywhere. I'm so happy!
