I was diagnosed when I was about 25. I'm 51 now. UC & Proctitis. Flare ups are mostly managed well with mezalizine.

I was diagnosed at 18 after a year of undiagnosed symptoms, I’m now 24. I try my best to not let the condition have an effect on my life or stop me from doing anything. I do find it difficult to talk to people about it so there’s very few people in my life who know I suffer from it (family, my partner and only a few close friends). The worst thing about this condition for me is constantly being paranoid/anxious about where the nearest bathroom is when I go out.

And how do you think age influences your perception of the condition and your attitude towards it?
