Hi everyone 👋

How are you doing today?

Acid reflux might sound like a small issue to some, but for those who live with it regularly, it can really wear you down. That burning feeling in your chest or throat, the nausea, the disrupted sleep… it’s not just uncomfortable, it can affect your eating habits, your mood, and even your energy levels.

For some members, symptoms might flare up at night. For others, certain foods or stress might make it worse. Whether you’ve been managing it for years or are just starting to figure it out, you’re not alone, and we would like to know:

💬 Have you found anything that helps soothe your acid reflux?

🍽️ Are there specific foods or habits that seem to trigger it for you?

😴 How do you handle nighttime flare-ups?

I have gastritis which causes acid reflux. GP prescribed Omeprazole which works brilliantly. If I have a night time flare up I take liquid gaviscon. I usually buy the individual doses. If one doesn’t work I have another but usually one works fine. My triggers are chocolate and wine, even worse if I have both together. Hope you find something that works for you soon x

I've had GERD for years and am on lansoprazole. The last month I increased my epilepsy medication of keppra to 2 x 500mg daily and since have had chest pain, nausea, blocked and runny nose and severe muscle pain. I've been living on Gaviscon. I've seen the doctor twice and am now on my 2nd week of antibiotics. I thought this was flu related but think it's more to.do.wirh acid reflux now. I've another doctor's appointment on 15th September. After an endoscopy earlier this year, I was told I had both a hiatus hernia and inflamed oesophagus. Hopefully I can solve this situation soon as it is painful and most uncomfortable. Update... I saw my doctor recently and all symptoms were COVID. Feeling better now.

After years of Acid Reflux and IBS I was advised, by a nutritionist, to stop dairy in my diet. I did so, in February '25, and I have not looked back! It would seem that dairy was the centre of the problem and those dreadful symptoms, which plagued my life are gone!
