Well he is the expert and if i was told tgat bg my Oncologist i would go with it as well. Its always different for different people depending on their state of health and i certainly would not b judgemental - everyone struggles and some more than others. I am in hospital right now with Sepsis and Cellulitus. U carry on hun with how ur coping and the best of luck to you - i mean that xx

Hi
In Feb 2017, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in both sides and in the lymph nodes. On going back to see my consultant for the results of tissue taken after my op in March 2017, I was given the devastating news that I had lung cancer. After further biopsies I was told I had stage 3b, non small cell adenocarcinoma. I had 2 years of chemo which was stopped because it was damaging my kidneys. At present my cancer has not started to grow back. Both cancers were primary ones. I must I did smoke until 2002 which may well have contributed to my lung cancer. I am lucky to know that if my cancer grows back, I would be able to have immunotherapy treatment.
My advice to anyone who has cancer is to take each day as it comes, try to stay positive and do what you think is right for you x

@Pgarner your diagnosis is nearly the same as mine - except that my lung broke away and went secondary to my brain which i have surgery on. You give me hope.

Yanina, I hope everything goes ok in the future.
It is approximately 1yr since I stopped having chemo and fingers crossed when I have another scan in a few weeks time that everything is still the same as it was in January this year.

@Pgarner well done for kicking a dirty habit, i have never tried to give up....im in palliative care, so dont see the point for me now,,,,but stay well. and never give up the fight,,,if i never had a good quality of life, i would end it, no way i would want to be tottaly reliant on others to clean me ect

Hi John
I dont think that smoking was the sole reason for cancer but breathing in fumes from cars, buses etc will also have contributed.
I have to go for another scan in a few weeks, so I am hoping my cancer hasn't started to get bigger.
Take care of yourself and best wishes for the future

I smoked occasionally and gave up when I was 40 to have an operation. I had to be clear from smoking for 2 yrs. I was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago when I was 58. Unfortunately the cancer spread to my lung.

Hello everyone,
I thought it would be an interesting discussion to see which members still smoke, and which members smoked, after their diagnosis of lung cancer.
Do you smoke? did you smoke? How did you stop?
