Hello all, I've been on here a while but never commented on this somehow. I'm Larry, and I was diagnosed with NSC during summer 2019. It was a large blow to me as I was fit and into sport, but I guess we're dealt the hand we're dealt, right?
Stay safe everyone.

Hi Anita65,
My name is Trudy, I was diagnosed with lung cancer in April 2019. I was lucky and it was caught early, I also needed the top half of my left lung removed. I had the operation on 25th of May 2019. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days and then went to stay with my daughter. A week after that I went home to my own house. I can honestly say that the pain was not very bad, they give you all the pain relief you need in the hospital. They also make sure you go home with plenty of pain relief and any other meds you need. I honestly think that the thought of the pain is far worse than what it actually was. I am not saying it does not hurt because it does, just not as much as you imagine it would. I hope you are sharing your thoughts with those around you as this also helps. Please stay safe. Xx

Hello members,
How are you doing? Have you seen this older discussion?
What type of lung cancer do you or your loved one have?
Non-small-cell lung cancer (the most common form, 87% of cases) which includes squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and large-cell carcinoma, or small-cell lung cancer (a less common but quickly spreading form)?
How are you coping with it?

Hello, My name is samantha
I have metastatic adenocarcinoma NSCLC I was diagnosed January 2020 and was told that i was treatable but not curable. I underwent palliative radiotherapy at the start of lockdown in March and then my treatments were put on hold due to covid. If i am being honest at the time this made me very angry!! In June i saw my oncologist and started chemotherapy and i am now on maintenance chemo. I have had a few bumps along the way but at present my tumor in my lung has gone and my numerous lymph nodes have halved and they continue to improve slowly. So i keep everything crossed and long may it continue.

My name jeffery Crosland. Diagnosed with lung cancer February 2020, five failed biopsy’s so letting nature take its course. So in July my Oncology consultant has given me 6/9 months survival rate. So might just see new year in

Hi, My name is Pam. I was diagnosed in 2017 that I had my devastating news that not only had breast cancer (both breasts and lymph nodes) as well as advanced non small cell adenocarcinoma, stage 3b. Both of these were separate primary cancers. I had surgery for the breast cancer but they could not operate on my lung, they said it was not operable or curable. I had almost 2 yrs of chemotherapy for my lung cancer, which was only stopped due to problems with my kidneys. My latest scan in November 2020 has shown no signs of the cancer growing. I think it is important to have a positive mind and to try fight this dreadful disease. My focus is to still being around to see my grandchildren (10 & 6 yes old) grow up and the fact that there are alot of people worse off than I am)
On a more cheerful note, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year xx

Hello,
Today I thought we could start a discussion about what type of lung cancer either you, or your loved, has. There exists several different kinds but it could be interesting to see which ones impact Carenity members the most.
Thank you for sharing!
