Hello Foxydog, your post made my knee ache and then reading about the differences between hospitals,,,would your consultant find the x-rays and scans from your first hospital helpful in deciding what is exactly wrong with your knee?? Compare and contrast is a good way of finding the problem area,,,and fixing it in a better way.
If your knee is not right, then it will affect your hips and spine, funny they are all connected,,,,Something I have found helpful is to sleep with a pillow under my knees,,,it adds some extra support, and it is softer on the joints,,,and slightly raise the foot of the bed, it helps with the joint fluid,,,,and allows the ankles to rest and pressure off this joint also,,,,
The first hospital who fitted the knee,,should have been brought to book for medical negligence and you should have gone after compensation,,,you are in so much pain and discomfort,,,,,and even moved house,,,
Having an operation cancelled for any reason,,takes time to relax, after getting hyped up for it, been there myself,,, I know this is annoying I have been there myself, relief,,no just fed up at waiting again,,,,,
Yes I would be confused at being told it was not out of line, when the other place said it was,,,,get the previous x-rays and scans and ask for a consultation to explain why one so the other said no, please don't let them off,,,make them explain, even ask another orthopedic consultant to give another expert eye, even the senior radiographer could be helpful,,,,,knees especially replacement ones,,I would have thought should no 'click' human knees 'click' when the cartilage is having problems,,,,,I also thought that the pain and discomfort should go or be greatly
improved,,,,,they should not give so much pain and discomfort,,,,, keep posting, ttfn from Karen.

Well it seems as if my knee issues are being passed over , from what the mri results show my spine has two trapped nerves so i am now being refereed to a spine specialist . I am utterly and totally shocked , they have said they wont look at my knees until i have had my spine looked at . Feeling very miffed and annoyed and still in agony most of the time .

Foxdog as your spine can leave you paralyzed and like our troops with lower leg injuries. It don't have to spoil life..But do sort your spine first and wish you all the best my friend..

I have had a knee replacement ,it has never been good , after several months and lots of physio and xrays it was showing it was out of line , had the op to realign it , lived in a full leg brace for 4 months morning noon and night , more physio still no better had mri that showed it was 14% out of line , it was decided that it needed to be totally replaced ,was booked in but the op was cancelled as my bloods were messed up after having medication for an infection . Then we moved areas so now under a different hospital and have had to start the whole thing again, after more xrays they are saying its not out of line , this is where the confusion is for me , it aches like crazy I feel a click when I move it at times , they are now looking at my spine for answers , for me its still my knee and always has been . Sorry for the long post .
