@Fran999 Hasn't been a genuine reason for the failure to attend to peoples' needs. The private sector worked what is the excuse of the NHS? ... See my comment elsewhere -

GPs & Specialists, including dentistry, working for the NHS in this area (North Wales), have been using the so-called Coronavirus Pandemic and the advice of the Health Authority ("if you even just feel you MIGHT be vulnerable, stay away") to neglect their duties. Getting paid out of the public purse to stay away from work - playing golf or watching 'Loose Women', leaving the nurses, inexperienced graduates, and students to bear the brunt of the publics' needs. And THEY have done their best. Waiting for 3yrs to get an important follow-up appointment. Surprising how it only affected the NHS! Private practice still functioned, but just took widely available precautions. When you know that, you realise what a dysfunctional organisation the NHS has become.

We can’t get a face to face appointment for weeks.
inwaited over a year to see oncologist then had to get my cancer surgery done privately and I’m only on a pension.
have had a big lump in my breast since November. Been examined by a nurse then a gp who sent it to the breast clinic. They have now returned it to the gp to check me again. This is delaying my. Scan even longer. I’m devastated

@Fran999 Out of personal interest in the state of the NHS - What is your local Health Board?

Hi everyone,
How are you today?
According to the British Medical Association there are currently 2.8 doctors per 1,000 people in England - while the average in comparable EU countries is 3.7 In order to meet that 3.7 average, the NHS would need to recruit nearly 50,000 doctors!
Combined with the growth and aging of the UK population, this could further deepen the shortage doctors and specialists across the UK.
What about you? Do you have trouble getting appointments to see a doctor or specialist? How far do you have to travel to see your doctor or specialist? How long do you typically wait for an appointment?
