I have not been offered video consultations only telephone calls following an operation in May and follow up consultation due to my ongoing metastatic cancer.
As a patient rep. I know that every single health professional is using Microsoft teams and the like amongst themselves, so it is just lazy and disrespectful to fob patients off with a phone call.
Sadly I know this is going to be the fall out from covid, the patient is not taken into consideration and takes second place.

@stephens I often find the pain killers do not do what it says on the tin as far as sleeping is concerned that’s has been problematic for a few years I often find I have to sleep on the chair which is like my bed orthopaedic. I do go to bed but often find myself rising once I waken early morning and am sore and resort to taking my morning tablets as soon as I get out of bed and manage to sleep for another hour or so this tends to get me down from time to time but the fact I survived serious health problems including COPD and liver and kidney problems but came through those things well and did change my lifestyle a great deal so with all these things that happened in the past and I thank the lord for bringing me through those dark days I find myself not dwelling on the bad side effects but just smile and look on the bright side and all the things I can accomplish even if I am always in some sort of pain I just put my head down and do whatever I can I even made a bucket list of which I have so far been able to accomplish most of the things on that these are the things that keep me going. Things are a little more complicated at the moment with the COVID pandemic because I have been in isolation since last January so have had to put things on hold at the moment but thankfully things have been going on within our country with Brexit and in my homeland the SNP and independence which is unfortunate for many of us in Scotland but in taking a keen interest in our politics it has given me a sense of purpose and really dose give me the desire to get up in the morning to continue to follow that hopefully that will not last throughout the summer again because I do need to get back out and about meeting friends and making new ones this site I might add goes a long way in keeping me informed and socialising through Media and meeting people going through similar issues as myself it’s good to talk albeit online

@AlickJohnMacleod Hi Alick I often awake during the night even tho' I go to bed sitting up. The trouble is that once asleep I slide down into horizontal position and soon wake up as I have head pain. I get up, go down, sit in armchair until it goes, then back to bed. Some times have cup of char and painkillers, As soon as in bed I go almost immediately asleep, hopefully 'til morn! Sometimes not.

Hello Hillary I'm 64 so I know just how you feel. Us older ladies need to push harder to keep fit to fight this covid virus. Hopefully we must be doing the correct things as we are the lucky ones to be spared

My dad did teleconsultation last month and it wasn't that appealing. The doctor wasn't serious at all, he barely mentioned on how to cure my dad's disease.

I have been to see my grandaughter her birthday,I think that the lockdown should be over quite soon,as the vaccine is being rolled out ,it isn't helping anyone's mental state, or businesses or schools ,I am spending alot of time in the flat ,but I like to socialize, and go for a coffee, and window shop,my dog keeps me going out for his walks

Try to stay strong my dear
Were all in this together and hoping and praying that we will come out the other side unlike those that have suffered and passed away alone.
All's you can do is try your best to get better regardless of your needs

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
In recent months following the COVID-19 crisis, we've seen the NHS and health care industry turn more and more to telemedecine. Now, GPs and other health professionals are encouraged to conduct non-urgent consultations remotely by telephone, video and online consultations where possible.
Some of the NHS-approved tools include:
And what about you? Has anyone used teleconsultation recently? If so, in what context? What did you think of it? Is it something you'd continue to use in the future? Why or why not?
