Hi not sure if anyone can give me some advice ,been suffering from lower back pain for yrs but put it down to age .The last Yr or so have been suffering with severe fatigue lower back pain worse in the morning but eases once up and about after an hr or so later in the day once I stop it starts up again ,I have pain in my neck and shoulders sometimes and my breastbone when I'm in bed which scares me sometimes because I think it could be a heartattack but it always goes off eventually ,I also had a strange burning stinging sensation in the back of my heel which has now gone numb.My xrays and blood tests showed no markers but mri showed some borderline inflammation of the sacroiliac joints naproxin helps somewhat but not all the time. Rheumatologist sent a report to me that it's probable mechanical due to osteoarthritis as I have this in my hands and wrists, should I except this as a diagnosis as none of the mechanical symptoms fit not sure what to do at my review, thanks for your time and any in put would be greatfully received

Littlebo

Ps I'm a 50 Yr old female

Hi @Littlebo ,

hope other members will be able to give you some advice. @GloriaG , @CaryHutton , @Walgreens , do you happen to have any recommendations for @Littlebo ?

@Littlebo , if you were diagnosed with osteoarthritis, do not hesitate to add the condition to your profile, this way you will have access to all OA discussion groups. To do so, go to GET INFORMED => My health information => My condition, click the blue button "Add a condition", and follow the instructions. If you have any questions or need help navigating the website, feel free to contact me.

Take care!

Hi "little Bo" , oh dear, it seems that you are getting the "run around" which many of us have experienced in our own search for a reason or a diagnosis. So many in the medical field still don't know what AS is or how to treat it. I say AS ( ankylosing spondilitis ) I am only guessing but the symptoms sound so familiar to me. Has anyone else in your family had similar problems ? At age 50 you are too young to have to face never ending pain and it shouldn't happen to one so young. But age makes no difference to AS as I found out at your age. I am now 75 years young and have suffered so much until I finally got the answers I needed. I went to a Neurologist who was so comforting and caring, she is now one of my best friends. She unlocked the secrets my body had been hiding for so long. Don't give up my dear, there is an answer for you and when you get it, you will be able to start on a new path in life. Come in here to chat when you can, together we can make a difference. Good Luck and be strong. Hugs G
