I don’t really know where to start tbh it’s all one big mess... My son was born @ 27 wks and died 3 times within the first year of life which due to the lack of oxygen I was at informed that he would be on the autistic spectrum for his emotional needs. Well, 8 yesterday on and after seeing his father belittling me, controlling my home/life and being disrespectful it was bound to to be copied by our son due to learnt behaviour.

My son is physically and verbally abusive daily and I am absolutely exhausted from trying to get the professional teams to meet his needs but all they are interested in is getting me assessed for mental health fgs! I don’t know what to do or where to turn and I live like a prisoner because I can’t leave my daughter with my son incase he hurts her when he has a melt down so tend to safeguard her daily.Has anyone else experienced the same problem with their child & if so, how did you resolve the situation. I would be grateful for any advice right now x

@missTx Hello,

Thank you for posting, I am very sorry to hear about the difficulties that you're having with your child. Have yo brought them to see a GP? I know that the NHS has Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), you can  see what services they offer by following this link.

Do any members have any advice or support to offer?

Hi missTx

Firstly I think that you should tell your ex?? To be more respectful and stand by you not belittling you. Ask him to stop this behaviour or you will go to the courts for an injunction against him for being a disruptive influence on your son. Maybe that will sort things out for you? If not then go to Citizens Advise and see what they have to say or go to your designated health worker and DEMAND HELP. it is after all your right. I am of the 'Old School' having been brought up in the late 1950's and 1960's, where a 'clip' around the ear for minor things or as I got older from when I was FOUR I was given the 'belt' then latterly the 'buckle end' of the belt. A few times in my early teens I could not go to school because the staff would find out about the way I was treated. It taught me 'right' from 'wrong' and how to address people etc. I AM NOT SAYING THAT IS THE ANSWER, but you must be firm. Tell your son that if he mis-behaves in any way that he won't be going to see his father. The feeling of loss may stop or at least curb his behaviour??

I do hope you get this sorted in the very near future or your son will grow up thinking that it's fine to treat women in such a way.

Good Luck my friend. Kind Regards. Richard.

@missTx I agree with @richard0804  Your husband has a big part to play in this. Have you ever done some sort of mediation or family counselling?
