My daughter developed breast cancer in 2016 and she became convinced that her only option was a double mastectomy. I feel that is a common myth, that ver woman with breast cancer has to get that done.

Some women believe that if it doesn't run in your family that you're automatically low risk. It depends on your personal genetics too (as I learned the hard way) and everyone should get tested. I'm in remission and I still get paranoid about it coming back.

For me, I had this idea in my head that if I did everything right, if I watched my figure, stayed active, didn't drink or smoke that i'd be "safe' from cancer. Especially as I don't have anyone in my family who's had it. Well, nope! Not a chance! Even if you do everything "right" you still can get cancer! It's a wicked little disease!

Hello :)
so, as the title says, what are the most common breast cancer myths that you've encountered since your own diagnosis? Is there anything you were surprised to learn?
One of the most common myths is that breast cancer, is that only women can get it. Unfortunately, men can also be inflected with this condition.
