My mam is at end of life now and would like thoughts on madazalam drug syringe driver as has been suffering for 9 days emoticon heart-broken

Not a nice place for you but relief at last for your Mother as she gets pain relief. Difficulty I had with this device and my Dad was the scares of overdosing morphine. Most nurses won't step beyond instructions from Doctors, they won't apply the best dose so my Dad suffered badly in last few days. Not so bad in hospital and great in a hospice but not great at home with relatively poor care. The lack of Doctors at home unlike hospital or hospice mean care is very difficult depending on what area you live. But the device places a dose into the patient on a time basis or on request, it does have limits and will not overdose. Once a person stops eating and drinking it is only a matter hours or a day or so. Thankfully most patients fall into a coma at the end so the release is quite peaceful. If you are at home you can get overnight care that will let you sleep, your Mother would never wish for you get ill at this time.
