Got to be honest after being a smoker the vap has really help and have been given up for nearly 2 years. I don't cough when using it not having cigarettes has improved my health

@Zonnie I am glad that it works for you zonnie. There is a massive surge in people opting to use vapes instead of cigarettes.

This could be an interesting article to read that I just published on the site:

Sorry I could not access the article.

Electronic cigarettes do seem to help smokers come off "real cigarettes " However speaking from experience it is the vapour that is affecting me. I have never smoked, but have had COPD for nearly 20 years.

My son (aged 50) started vaping to come off the real thing. In no time he was puffing almost every waking moment he was at home. It was like walking into a fog. After many rows he now confines himself to his room, though he smokes elsewhere when I am out. I can feel the effects of the particulates when I come home.

He argues that I am imagining it, but my monitor says my respiration is down and my pulse goes up when ever I inhale this vapour.

@Scotty 2 Hello Scotty,

Please follow this link for the article and it should take you right there.

The study is interesting but like with every study, it might not correspond directly with you as everyone is different. The article is interesting to read, it would be great or you to share your opinion after reading it.

Have any other members had experience with vaping and their breathing problems?

Hi I've got stage 3 COPD/ Emphysema I gave up smoking 11 months ago and I've been using a vape

In March this year I went for breathing tests and was told my lungs were only working 45% I also had the same tests last month and my lungs are now only working 34%, so in 6 months I have deteriorated rapidy and I think it's down to the vape but can't be positive on that, can anyone else relate to this .

@Swansealady @Scotty 2‍  Will you consider giving up the vape after this? Maybe some other members have an opinion to add? It can be difficult to know the long-term impacts of new smoking devices.

@JosephineO I found it easy giving up smoking after 40 years with the vape but not sure if I could give up the vape if I haven't got anything else but I do think I need to try a bit harder as I'm sure it causing more damage but nobody seems to know, would love to know what other people think .

I smoke 5/6 times a day usually 1/3-rd of a cigarette and have just started to vape and intended to stop smoking next week,

But already only smoking 1 @am and after diner,

But I don't inhale the vape,the nicotine hit like all tobacco is in the mouth,the idea of stopping smoking is to get clean air in the lungs so why would you replace smoke with an oil/ chemical mix,
