Hello @Zena-Dawn‍, thank you for opening this discussion. What conditions do you have besides Crohn's?

Hi everyone, how are you today?emoticon cute

While it's not all too common, Crohn's patients are more likely than others to develop other chronic or autoimmune conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and multiple sclerosis. Crohn's can also cause problems beyond the GI tract, causing things like anaemia, skin disorders, osteoarthritis or even gallbladder or liver disease.

Are any of you affected by any other chronic or autoimmune conditions in addition to your Crohn's? Is it hard to manage multiple chronic conditions? How do you manage them?

Hi I have had crohns for about 6 years and in that time it has brought on Clinical Depression and now Chronic fatigue syndrome or better known as CFS/ME I have had to give up work and now walk with a stick and body pumped up with medication

and I have not been able to take any medication for crohns as my body rejects it but I’m lucky so far that no hospital needed just got to put up with flares

I have Crohn’s colitis  that is somewhat controlled by very very strong medication such as MST and oral morphine, Anti-TNF therapy and Biological medication to name a few but I’ve had three major surgeries two of which were lifesaving I’ve also had two stomas (one now) two parastomal hernia repairs, I’ve had a sub total colectomy and I’m waiting for a Proctectomy because of this awful disease.

I have A.S. - Ankylosing Spondylitis again controlled with medication and invasive injections into the S.I. Joints and Anti-TNF therapy.

I’ve developed fibromyalgia from the chronic pain. I’m already on the medication used to treat this from my A.S. - PreGabalin.

I have CFS - chronic fatigue syndrome.

I have urinary retention requiring self catheterisation every 4 hours.

I have Gastritis. - Treated with medication.

I have depression and anxiety.

I have two prolapse, one from the perennial wall caused by Crohn’s (straining) and one from the front vaginal wall.

I also suffer periodically from Alopecia.

I suffer with Sjögren’s syndrome. Not officially diagnosed yet but suspected by two specialists- optical and oral.

I suffer with Chronic Slow Transit- treated with medication.

I have Hiatus Hernia.

I also have ovarian cysts.

Since becoming chronically ill I’ve also developed allergies to mitarzipine, NSAID’s and become lactose intolerant.

Talk about having a few issues!! Oh My God!
