So I'm keen on watching animals on instagram. I don't have a pet but I really want one. I am worried that on my bad days I won't be able to take care of it. I can barely take care of my self on those days. But I also read that having an animal can help with feeling connected to something and give my life purpose. Does anyone here have a dog?

Let me know, I really want a dog...

How are you today?

I think many of our Carenity members care for their family including family members and pets despite living with a chronic illness. I think ultimately the amount of responsibility pales in comparison to the happiness and love they receive in return. I will tag a few members who can share their experiences with pets and depression.

My son suffered badly from depression and anxiety. I bought him a puppy. The puppy made him leave the house every day and gave him so much pleasure. That pup gave me eight extra years with my darling boy.
