Hi everyone, I'm new here. I was diagnosed with postnatal depression when my daughter was about 2 months old (she's 20 years old this month).

I am on medication for my depression, which I've been on for the past 4 years.

They're the longest working antidepressants that I've ever had. Before this medication, I was on and off antidepressants as the longest they seemed to work for was about 2 years.

I somehow worked up the courage to refer myself for counselling through a mental health service that works with GP surgeries in my town.

Hi @NannasGirl1982

Thank you for your introduction?

How is counselling going? Have you been to your appointment yet? Do you have many side effects from your anti-depressants?

No pressure to answer, but I am sure many other members are interested in your story.

I will tag a few others who may be willing to share their how they treat their depression and what is or is not working for them:

@Kecsilver @Katyates2030 @annie75 @Kitcat @Kerrie75 @Ornaith @glastonbaby @Jake94 @Siobhanloui93 @Michelleclaired63 @Michael4 @Nannie22 @Wordieboo @Katykat38

Please offer whatever advice you have!

Take care,

Lizzi

I am still waiting for the place to contact me. The only side affect I've had was from a liquid antidepressant as it made me feel sick, so I had to stop taking it.

@NannasGirl1982

How are you today?

That is frustrating that you are still waiting to be contacted. Did they switch you to a different anti-depressant or are you now not on one?

I hope you hear back from them soon!

Take care,

Lizzi
