Good morning everyone, I'm interested in hearing if any of you have succeeded in solving the problem of recurrent urinary tract infections? I've been having a terrible time with it in the past few months, it feels like every few weeks I have one. I've been able to find ways to manage my pain and fatigue more or less, but I don't know what to do about this. I've tried basic antibiotics and cranberry juice, has anyone found a solution?

Hello all, how are you today? Have any of you noticed any bladder issues also occurring with your fibromyalgia? If so, what have you experienced? How have you treated them? Can you share any advice about UTIs with FibroClaire?

Hello everyone I have, in the evening is the worst time for me with my bladder and has been for a long time. I have to go to the toilet about ever 10/15mins which as you know when ur in a lot of pain is the last thing you want. Through the day as well. Sometimes I get very little notice when I need to go and it feels like i have held it for hrs. It effects what little sleep I get so im not only feel like a zombie but look like one the way i walk where im in so much pain. Does anyone else think that they have had enough of it and would give anything for one normal day? I have tried not drinking after 7pm even 5pm but its nearly always the same. Bathroom +no sleep +pain = gets me so down I'd love just a 10min break from it all. I spoke to the Doctor about it and he said just to stop drinking earlier but in hot weather how does that work. Sorry everyone for being so negative I'm having a very hard time with it at the moment and it just seems to get worse.

Oh it's so good to read that I'm not alone in this. I had terrible bladder issues for month until finally we were able to determine it was IC (interstitial cystitis).

@Robatkins‍ I understand it's really painful and uncomfortable. Have you been diagnosed with IC? My GP was really reluctant to prescribe anything more than paracetamol or OTC painkillers. Told me the same thing about cutting down on when and how much I drink.

Hi pinsneedles no the doctor has the attitude that every thing wrong with me know is Fibromyalgia so I don't get any more tests done now even if I ask. To be honest I've given up now. It seems to be their get out of jail card.

@FibroClaire I often get a UTI but as I have Anti Phospholipid Syndrome APS (Sticky Blood) I cannot take Cranberry juice as it interferes with my INR (Warfarin) Levels. I anyone else suffers from APS and is on Blood thinners be careful. xx

I suffered chronic bladder infections for over a year.However, I suffer from Diabetes and have a small prolapse so not sure if Fibromyalgia plays a role or not. I was sent to see a Urologist who specialises in problems with prolapses and he gave me advice re making sure I totally emptied my bladder each time - including leaning forward etc. However he recommended a supplement called D-Mannose which helps to prevent infections and since then, nearly 2 years on I have not had a single UTI. So maybe, regardless of the cause, this might be of help.
