I asked my GP couple of weeks ago about a morphine patch (I'm currently on 30mg Zomorph: twice daily) as I'm having a lot of problems with my swallowing at the minute, but my doctor told me there wasn't anything she could prescribe?

I was put on Matrifen patches which are infused with Fentanyl as I eventually built a resistance to Morphine but I would do anything and trying my hardest to get off them!

Apart from the fact fentanyl is responsible for a high number of deaths, they are highly addictive and cause a lot of damage to internal organs and cause cognitive issues & severe constipation along with many other side effects.

I started on the lowest dose but now on 50mg and they want to increase dosage again 🤯

I'm doing research into more holistic therapies as some specialists believe that the opiates and other chemical medicines are actually doing more harm to our condition than good.

I am on fentanyl patches 100mg changing them every 72 hours, they definitely help me. I hope you also get some relief too, good luck x

I’v tried every type of pain meds of which I’v became allergic to most, plus none of them touch the pain anyway. Morphine patches didn’t really give me any relief from pain, but made me so sick and dizzy I had to stay in bed. I now just use paracetamol occasionally ibuprofen and Dicofenac. I am using ginger patches at the moment and find they work really well as you can put them exactly where the pain is, also ginger foot patches that you put on overnight. I’v also got bad Arthritis everywhere, a thyroid condition and diabetes plus other health issues.

Good Morning Pixie, thought I'd just let you know that bought some  Ginger Pain Patches. But Oh my gosh they didn't work for me..I cut one in half ,put one half on one hand and the other half on the other hand. After about 10 minutes my hands started to get really warm, but then they just got so painful and burning. I was just about to take them off and my Physiotherapist came,I was shaking with the pain that was tearing through my body .When she saw the Patches she took them off and ran the cold water for me to put my hands under. She said not everyone can use these Patches and it also depends on what other medications your on.Course i never thought of that..Oh well thats another type of Pain Relief Medication that can go in the bin.So if your G.P decides to try you on something else, be careful. Take Care   Glojo
