Hi, my fingers go numb frequently, especially if I'm feeling cold.

Hi, the numbness I experience is permanent and painful, even though that sounds contradictory. It is uniform in both hands in that it affects the inside half of my thumb, all my first digit and middle finger and the inside half of my ring finger, but the middle finger is the most painful. My little fingers are totally ok. The numbness, or neuropathy, gives me the sensation of my finger bones being totally freezing or burning hot but don't feel anything but normal to the touch. However touching or holding anything is physically painful and anything I touch which is not rounded feels 'sharp' and even more painful, eg cutlery, mobile phone. I rarely sleep more than an hour without waking with pain and I find sitting up in a chair to sleep less painful. I find blowing my nose or using toilet paper very difficult due to the numbness in my fingers.

I broke my ankle at the end of January this year. I am still recovering. It appears to have had an impact on the whole of my body. My hands are permanently tingling, feel numb pins & needles. Sometimes I will go to pick something up & it falls straight through my fingers. My little finger on each hand is the worse. I find it very difficult to know if these symptoms are from the fibro or something else entirely.
