Hello everyone, how are you doing?

Bladder and bowel issues can be an especially challenging aspect of living with multiple sclerosis, affecting both physical comfort and daily routines. For many people with MS, symptoms like urgency, incontinence, or constipation are common, and they can sometimes feel isolating or difficult to talk about.

How do you manage bladder or bowel issues related to MS? Have you found any specific routines, dietary changes, or treatments that help?

I have switched to decaf tea, and I've found I've not needed to go as often. My husband has also switched to decaf tea!

My husband regularly makes homemade dishes, such as soups. They're an easy way of getting your 5 a day in, as well as fibre.

We have a small stool in our bathroom, so that when we're struggling to pass bowels, the stool helps us raise our knees above the hips. I've found that I pass my stools easier if I've been using my manual wheelchair. I also have stuff, like movicol, that'll help me pass stools. I remind my husband of it if he's struggling to pass bowels. He's yet to take a sachet.

Hi I carried large fabric conditioner bottle in the boot of my car I used it at motorway service stations then emptied it in the toilets because as you probably know the toilets are a long way from the entrance

I could always pull in anywhere and use it when desperate

With bowel issues large supermarkets fast food takeaways like McDonald's are useful when desperate and there is customer parking at these sites
