Hello,

Bone spurs (extra bits of bone, which feel like hard lumps, that form around the affected joint) are unfortunately a symptom of osteoarthritis that many people are impacted by.

Do you get bone spurs? If so, where?

I'm not sure what bone spurs look like but, yes I have lumps on my fingers nodes I think but on the joints of my little fingers where my fingers are attached to my hand there is a funny something or another which feels funny and is uncomfortable though its not noticeable just yet .

Spurs are finger like projections from the joint to protect your joint from further damage. How ever when they grow too long, they can become painful. I had them in both my knees and when they became too painful, I had Arthroscopy with power wash out to cut off the projections. it was successful for many years. The lumps you are describing on your fingers sounds like Nodular Arthritis. Your GP will be able to confirm it, if its that.

Thank you Shirley and nineteen-gale for your support and kind comments. I've seen my GP who has referred me back to the physiotherapy service who apparently deal with all cases such as mine in Suffolk. I'm now waiting for an appointment with them.

That's good news Evie. My appointment was channeled in the same way. The physio orders the X-Rays before he sees you, explains everything to you and gives you exercises to fillow. If it deemed necssary, he/she will then get you seen by the consultant.

Hi everyone, just an update on my fight to get a scan! I've recently seen a higher level physio and he seemed surprised I have been going to his dept for about 2 years without an xray etc. So he's now referred me to the hospital for an MRI scan, I've now got about 3 weeks to wait. We've also had some handrails and other equipment installed so life is a little easier and my husband is feeling a bit better after some adjustments to his Alzheimers medication and painkillers which did not seem to agree with each other! So onwards and upwards! x
