Hi all, I was hoping to hear some of your thoughts about the COVID vaccine.

I just saw my rheumatologist the other day and he assured me that I could get the vaccine with no hesitation. I'm on oral methotrexate.

I for sure do want to get vaccinated but I expect I'm low on the list due to my age. Has anyone here already been vaccinated? How did it go?

Thanks xx

I am on methotrexate injections & rituxamab infusions x 2 every 6 months. I have seen conflicting advice with regards to having the COVID-19 vaccine. I haven’t been able to contact my rheumatology doctor to see if l should go ahead with it. NRAS say speak to your doctor who deals with your RA before going ahead with the vaccine. Does anyone have any advice for me. Tried my gp surgery but they say it’s the rheumatology department at local hospital for best advice. Will keep trying the hospital but in meantime any help would help.

As far as I am aware it is a mixture of if you have a autoimmune disease /milligrams of steroid & amount of immune suppression drugs you are on.

@KPangela Thank you. I shall book the vaccination & tell them of the methotrexate weekly dosage & of my recent rituxamab infusions. Then take it from there.

I'm on the Humira injection and I'm 54. I'm anxiously awaiting the call or message to book my appointment. I'm worried I'll be forgotten as my injection comes via health at home not through my GPS repeat prescription service. Can anyone give me any advice.

Hi, I'm on methotrexate and Baricitinib and have now had my 2 vaccine jabs. My consultant said I should def get them. Had some side effects but hey if its going to help at least a little it was worth them. Still being really careful and safe I'm 57
