@yolanda Hello yolanda, thank you starting this discussion. This is such a great topic, as I think we can all understand the difficulty in having to give up the foods we love. Why are all the things that taste the best usually the worst things for us? Let me tag some other members who may be able to share their experience with this and maybe even some recipes!
Hello all, I hope you're doing well! Did you have to cut out foods you love when you found out you had diabetes? What do you do to manage? How to you incorporate more 'healthy' foods into your diet? Do you have any tips or even recipes to share? Feel free to share it all here!

I love vegetables, so you can cook beans and put pumpkins and chayote and okra. And add cumin, black pepper, 1 stock cube.
You can dice very small and make a fritada.
Whole cabagge, take the middle like a hole. Fry and cook some onions, peppers, tomatoes, garlic, put any herbs and spices you like. A bit of tomato sauce. Put inside the cabbage. In a pan half water and put to cook. Put a lid in it.
Hope you enjoy

@LucySimmonfs Thank you for the ideas! I've never had okra before, I'm interested to try it! I'll make sure to try to use more spices, I admit I'm a bit of an amateur when it comes to seasoning things

You are welcome. Okra is very good to fight diabetes. When you cook it, don't cut the ends. It is a bit slimmy. But I love it. Okra and chayote go well in coconut milk.

Hello! I was hoping to get some input from everyone. I've decided to make an effort to eat better and take control of my diabetes. The problem is, is that I cannot STAND vegetables. I am a meat and potatoes gal. Anything veg is hard for me to eat!
Well, I can manage things like broccoli and cauliflower, but I try to hide them in creamed soups or cover them with cheese (not the best for the diabetes) to hide the taste. I know it's childish, but I am who I am.
Does anyone have any advice on how to make veg palatable? I'd love any advice on recipes or seasonings to put on them so I can get more veg into my diet.
Thank you! xx
