Type 2 Diabetes - Have you been listed as 'Extremely Vulnerable'?

I'm type 2 insulin dependent,CKD stage3, hypertension, hypothyroidism,and previous sarcoidosis- I work in a nursing home with possible 2 covid 19 cases and I have not received a letter or any correspondence from my GP. PPE protection is a joke and I'm wondering if I should attend work or not - I am a staff nurse.

Like me you have a real bunch of pathologies going on? Take extra care.

Regarding working in a nursing home it must be very hard at this time of Covid-19. It is up to you as to whether you put yourself and family's safety first or take the risk of contracting the disease from your patients, especially if PPE  is not readily available?? Surly Mandy YOU come FIRST??????

Hi all I have Lupus (SLE), chronic asthma, type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, problems with my spin L4/L5 and hip problems I use a walking stick, I've  not had any letter regarding if I am classed as in the Venerable category or not, I rang my gp but have not heard back from them yet, the secretary at my gp said the government have not listed lots of people but the doctor can change that, so I will wait and see what happens next, but it's a pain as I can't get a food delivery slot until its sorted. 

To be honest I have a number of illnesses that qualify to being extremely at risk including diabetes T2 with insulin. I have had no letters or help from no government hand outs only our means tested benefits. I've had to let my partner who is my carer too, go and look after her mother who has dementia as her partner has kicked her out of his house too due to her illness. So I'm left with no one. I've had hypos and hypers, chronic ibs-d episodes, depressive/self harming and nobody frankly gives a toss. My parents are venerable due to age etc, my partners family are being total idiots and they're trying to split our relationship up too. So to be honest the government has done nothing to assist me at all. I'm struggling to get by all the time and feel destroyed and all the professors say on the TV call the helplines. OK tried that 4hrs wait time only for them to not answer! Brilliant all that medical knowledge and a dumb ass method of mental health help and support. Like the NHS has already got enough to do with the current situation. This useless government of which I never put in power has neglected people like me. I hold them totally accountable for my health if it deteriorates any more as they are to blame for this incompetent mess they call lockdown. They are a joke a very bad joke. I'm angry with them even when this is over accountability will be brushed under the carpet by bureaucracy and mishandling of the facts of the virus and where it actually came from as no doubt there must be something at stake in the end. Possibly money or electronic devices etc not being purchased? Accountability will never happen and people like us will always suffer from whatever illnesses we have and just another grim statistic from a very grave situation.
