I love fruity candy but being diabetic I know I shouldn’t eat so many or drink a lot of juice. Does anyone have a fruity snack like gummy bears that is low in sugar but gives you the fruity feeling?

Thx

The only problem is that most diabetic sweets are a laxative in reality, so only a few can be consumed at a time. I bought loads online from Ebay, more expensive of course because diabetics are always ripped off. The only bonus of the government draconian cuts of ingredients like sugar and salt etc. is that normal products are becoming suitable. But sadly the taste and are more unhealthy than before by adding horrible ingredients like fats etc. to replace traditional ingredients. So yes there are alternatives for sweet tooth diabetics but like for the ingedients and effects. Cheaper foods tend to have less sugar, an expensive ingredient, so are a good alternative.

I would be interested to know as well. It is all very well the Drs telling me to not worry about having a big meal that little and often is better. The trouble is I then graze feed as my son calls it on the wrong things

Hey @elizabethmary! How are you?

Thank you for starting this discussion today. Diabetes can cause a lot of changes in everyday habits, including the diet we might be used to. I hope you find great snack ideas! I will tag some members, who might want to share their thoughts on this topic and hopefully we all can discuss!

@richard0804 @Pippadog @healthcare8055 @pallyman @Nanaclaire @wiltshireman @hedgepiggle @Diabetic2 @diab2002 @monday13 @Shemum @Tracy766 @audieb @Kaizersoza @Pennylein64 @Mamarr @JALLOH @Midsonwm @Helenmary @Bistos @Mellymel65 @Babyrhino53 @Chirambo123 @Debi.K

Hello everyone! How are you today?

Has your diet changed a lot after getting diagnosed? Do you buy fruity snacks or drinks? What do you substitute snacks like gummy bears with?

Take care,

Polina from the Carenity team

How about just eating fruit? An alternative would be sugar-free candy
