My 16 year old son was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis almost a year ago now ,and we both thought we had everything under control!
however today we have received a letter to say that my sons cal protection is elevated to a greater level than can be measured !!!

The letter was short and sweet and to the point but did not give any advice to what we can do to help reduce the level or any Covid complications

anyone’s views ideas or advice would be welcome thank u ?

@Jacbilchar Hello Jacbilchar, thank you for opening this discussion. Let me tag some other members who can possibly share their thoughts and advice with you.

Hello members, how are you doing? What do you think about Jacbilchar's situation? Have you ever had an extraordinarily high calprotectin level? What can be done to lower it? Can you share any thoughts or advice with Jacbilchar?

@Jacbilchar I'm not sure it's something we can change ourselves, from what I've understood over the years that it's an indicator of inflammation. So I guess the way to lower it would be to stop the inflammation that's part of UC, which we do theoretically by taking our medicines and with our diet.
