I don't remember my mum specifically telling me about periods but think she must have done. I was late starting 14 I think and all the other girls had started so it was a relief. As for the menopause my mum had my sister at 44 and just never started her periods again. Me I had a odd menopause flushes on and off for years. My sister is having a torrid time with her menopause and I am trying to help her as best I can. My 12 year old granddaughter started a few months ago and just took it in her stride as they had talked about it at school and my daughter had got her pads in ready and told her what to expect etc.

Hello ladies,
In many cultures, women's health can osmetimes be a "taboo" topic. Sometimes, conversations about periods and puberty aren't held in the most beneficial way for girls.
Was this the way for you? Was puberty and women's health discussed openly with you?
