Hi everyone 💜
I’m tagging some of our ITP community members here because I’d really like to hear your experiences.
Have you ever noticed your ITP symptoms or platelet count changing when you’ve had a cold, flu or another infection? Did you need any extra monitoring or support during that time?
@Greebrudrogreys @Festokai7596 @Choojucling7 @Preefey08 @Vougreycayt0158 @1Dogroufon
Even a short reply about what you noticed could be useful to someone else living with ITP. And if you have any questions about this topic, feel free to ask the community too.

Hi everyone 💜
With cold and flu season here, I thought this might be something worth talking about.
When you live with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), getting an ordinary cold, flu or other infection can sometimes bring extra questions. You may find yourself paying closer attention to bruising, bleeding, fatigue or your platelet count while you are unwell.
Some people may notice changes when they are ill, while others may not see any difference at all. Everyone’s ITP can behave differently.
When you catch a cold, flu or another infection, do you notice any change in your ITP symptoms or platelet count?
Do you usually contact your GP or haematology team, have your blood checked, or simply monitor how you feel?
If you feel comfortable, share what you have noticed from your own experience. It would be interesting to see whether other members have experienced something similar, and you are welcome to ask the community any questions too. 💜
With Care,
Razar from the Carenity team💖
