Just got back from a dermatologist appointment and they've suggested, amongst a different regime, taking Methotrexate.
Has anyone else been on this? He told me to look into it and make sure i was happy before committing, it seems a pretty strong drug with some fairly serious side effects.
Anyone got any opinions?

@DeanH1988 Hello Dean, thank you for opening this discussion. Methotrexate is prescribed for a number of health conditions, including various cancers and autoimmune diseases. A number of our members taking methotrexate have left their reviews on it, feel free to take a look to see what others think: Medical Fact Sheet: Methotrexate.
Hello everyone, how are you today?
Have any of you been prescribed methotrexate for your atopic dermatitis? Has it been effective for you? Did you have any side effects?

I haven't tried it, to be honest this is the first I've heard of it, usually my GP prescribes diprobase emollient and thats it 🤷🏻♀️

I'm a bit against it to be honest.
I know they're rare, but ANY of those side effects are worse than eczema.
Plus I have my son being born in a few weeks so dont think I should be starting a strong medication right now, especially if it could affect my mood, health or sleep etc.
Interested to know what others think.
