Metoject PEN solution for injection in pre-filled pen

Metoject PEN is indicated for the treatment of

• active rheumatoid arthritis in adult patients,

• polyarthritic forms of severe, active juvenile idiopathic arthritis, when the response to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) has been inadequate,

• severe recalcitrant disabling psoriasis, which is not adequately responsive to other forms of therapy such as phototherapy, PUVA, and retinoids, and severe psoriatic arthritis in adult patients.

• mild to moderate Crohn's disease either alone or in combination with corticosteroids in adult patients refractory or intolerant to thiopurines.

I found it difficult to stomach methotrexate in tablet form they upset my stomach & no sooner had l taken them they came back up. With the injection pen l receive the whole dosage and so far have had no adverse side effects. I haven’t been using the pen for long so not getting the full benefits just yet. But l am happy to have been prescribed the pen as it’s so easy to use. I tried normal syringe method of injecting methotrexate but was unable to press down plunger due to my hands being affected by arthritis. This method is so easy, doesn’t need to be kept refrigerated & l cannot recommend it enough. If you are given the opportunity to receive methotrexate in this manner go for it. You won’t regret it.
