I was put on naproxen last year to alleviate pain in my neck as I have a partially protruding disc in it. I recently moved house and had to change my Dr's too, I saw one of our new Dr's on Tuesday morning and she has taken me off the naproxen  according to her my last blood test showed that my kidney function is too low  my last blood test was in the middle of last year with my old Dr who never told me that my kidney function is too low  So anyway this new Dr has taken me off it and two days later I wake up with severe pain in my neck and a severe headache to go with it. Obviously the naproxen was working for me on my neck pain, now that I have started getting pain from it again I tried to make an appointment to see the Dr again to ask if there is anything else she can give me to help with it, only to be told that there are no bookable appointments for the next week or so. I suffer enough pain from degenerative disc disease and fibromyalgia and was so happy that I wasn't getting any pain from my neck or any headaches. So as you can probably imagine I'm not too happy about the pain starting again. Sorry for waffling on but I'm quite upset that something that was working has been taken away and nothing else offered in its place. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to ease the pain until I manage to get an appointment with the Dr 😕😢

I have found acupuncture really useful - see if you can find a Community Clinic in your area. The treatments are more affordable and the one I attend has funding to offer a course of free treatments for chronic pain conditions.

I use very little medication for my lower back and upper back condition. I was given tramadol but reacted badly to it. I use co codamol when in a lot of pain but other than that I don't take anything. I do use a Tens machine and wouldn't be without it

I was on it for over 5 years for severe arthritis, I always told my doctor that it was the one thing I couldn't do without. Unfortunately I was one of the unlucky ones that caught Covid, but also one of the lucky ones who came out of ITU, but while in there I had a Pulmenory Embolism which meant I had to take blood thinners. The downside of this, is that they stopped my Naproxen. This has greatly impacted my pain levels and the doctors solution was to increase my slow release Morphine and give me a bottle of liquid Morphine, which having managed to wean myself off it a few years ago, I really dont want to start relying on that again.

I can't wait for the time when I will be able to start Naproxen again.

I find it good for days when my pain is really bad and mobility is poor, a 250mg tablet is enough to make movement better and get the pain back down to a tolerable level.

Recently prescribed naproxen, I try and only take it at night, so I can get some sleep, it does help!

Brought my overall pain under control. Feel much better for it, should have been prescribed earlier?

Currently taken as an anti-inflammatory for muscular problems in the lower back... Doesn't have much of an effect or alleviate the pain.
