Good advisor
I have been on low dose of Statins since my Cholesterol levels went up to 6.9. I took them for 6 months then came off them due to severe cramps in my calves, thighs and feet. Woke up several times in the night with excruciating muscle cramps. So I came off them for 4 months, had my Cholesterol checked and it was up to 7.9. My GP said that the benefits far outweigh the side effects and put me back on them. I only take the lowest dose of 10mg at bed time. After taking them for 6 months my Cholesterol level is down to 4.7 and I am very pleased that I stayed on them to lower the risk of Heart attack or Stroke. I am still taking them. Apart from mild stomach pain at night and cramps, I do not have any more side effects. For cramps, I wear a Magno Pulse wrist strap 24/7 which helps the circulation and lessens the severity of the cramps.

The side effect I had from statins was aching throughout my body, I simply discussed it with my GP and no longer take them.

I have tried 3 different types of statins, but regret will not take them anymore and refuse to take them. Side effects are chronic and muscle pain is one of the worst!

Hello everyone!
We know statins are used for a lot of cardiovascular diseases, but as effective as they can be, they can produce side effects.
Do you take statins? Have you had side effects?
Thanks :D
