Hi
It depends on what your diagnosis is. Mine is arthritis in the lower spine. I cant take any gel with anti inflammatories in it because I take them orally. I use Cura Heat Patches and it takes the edge of the pain
Nothing miraculous LOL

Hi
Did you find the actipatch any good?
I know I didn't but horses for courses. Different things help different people.
I have a friend who got one at the same time as I did and she thinks its fantastic.

In addition to Degenerative Scoliosis of the lumbar spine had for 5+ years, I was hospitalised a while ago for 2 months with Discitis , being put on IV with antibiotics (Amoxicillin) plus Morphine Sulphate 10mg tablets for pain relief . After discharge , continued both medications with tablets orally . Trying not to be addicted to the morphine , so have stopped taking unless pain reaches 8,9 or 10 on the pain scale . This seem to work for me , since morphine can cause side effects with bladder and bowels .

Hi Nessie
Glad you are finding something that works for you. I have a fractured trochanter bone {4 weeks post op 2nd hip replacement} This was 3 years ago and I've been on crutches since and am told I'll be on them permanently. So as well as everything else I have a lot of pain from that.
I'm waiting for a knee replacement and I walking bone on bone so I'm on morphine really because of that and on the oramorph for break through pain. After the op I hope to decrease the dose. I'll still take some because I was given it for the fracture but like you I don't want to get addicted. The fracture they will never cure apparently

When I joined this group a few months ago, my osteoarthritis and chronic costochondritis (in ribs and sternum) were combining to make my life just agony plus. For years it's been paralysing.
A GP visit 3 months ago resulted in gabapentin being added to the OxyContin painkiller - which wasn't working due to my own decision to reduce the dosage - and then I started on turmeric powder in capsules, and for 3 whole weeks now, have been pain-free!!
Be encouraged, try anything that's highly recommended, give it time to kick in, and pray like mad. If something works for me it may just work for you.
