In a reverse way, during my cancer treatment I lost 6 stone and remained out of hospital during that six week period. A fellow patient, a super fit American airman receiving the same treatment, thin slick fighting machine spent most of his six weeks treatment on a ward fed through a tube. A surgeon stated many thin people die after surgery, yet fatties survive because they have a reserve to call on, thin people have only muscle. Not forgetting once you stop eating for any period your muscles are consumed by your body, if you have no fat reserves.
As an injecting diabetic at the time the weight loss was so dramatic, I went on for several years controlling my diabetes with just diet only. Until I put weight on, a slow process but now oral medicine only, no needles thankfully!

Hello everyone, how are you today? πΌ
Obesity isnβt just about weight, itβs a complex health condition that can lead to a wide range of complications, some of which are often overlooked. In addition to well-known metabolic concerns like diabetes or high blood pressure, obesity can contribute to joint pain, acid reflux, sleep apnea, asthma, urinary incontinence, and even affect reproductive health.
π Have you ever experienced symptoms that you feel are connected to your weight?
π What kind of support or treatment have you received to manage these specific complications?
π Do you feel that doctors and healthcare providers address these issues in a thorough and compassionate way?
