Hello everyone,
How are you today? Have you seen our Christmas-themed group?
What are some of the dishes your family enjoys each year during the Christmas holidays? Do you try to keep an eye on your diet during the holidays, or to you like to give yourself a "break" for the end of the year?
Feel free to share any of your favourite recipes or advice here!
Take care,
Courtney

@JosephineO I love my late mother’s stuffing for Christmas dinner but it’s not exclusively for Christmas the beauty is it’s easy to make but high in fat mind you you can use low fat butter . The ingredients are oatmeal onions finely chopped salt and pepper mix in loads of butter mix the butter and the meal till fairly soft or moist use micro wave whilst cooking give it a mix now an again until butter melts into oatmeal and onions

@AlickJohnMacleod MMm that sounds scrummy! I know butter is not the best to our health, but it's so hard to resist at the holidays!

At the moment I am not sure what my Christmas will be as I have been put on a dairy free diet, as well as all the other stuff I can't eat but I have nibbles galore for the rest of the family. My younger granddaughter is only 8 months old so I have sausage rolls and biscuits for her to suck to death. As long as the rest of the family are OK that is what matters to me.

Christmas can be a difficult time if you’re dealing with an illness that affects your diet because it is a holiday that is fully concentrated around meal times and celebrating with big dinners. If you’re suffering from an illness that stops you from being able to eat what you like, this is made even more difficult when celebrating Christmas.
We would like to know what you eat at Christmas? Do you make a special exception for Christmas day and eat what you like, or do you stay vigilant with your diet? Do you have any tips for making classical Christmas dishes more heart and body friendly?
Please discuss how you manage your food and meals during Christmas. Tell us what you miss eating or what you’re looking forward to cooking for the big day.
Happy Christmas to you all!
