Dear members,

I am delighted to announce that Carenity has added new and improved features to our medications unit, which you can find here: My medications. You can still add, evaluate and comment on your medications, but we have revamped the layout and added special features for ease of use.

Evaluating a Medication

We have updated how you can evaluate your medications. Instead of it being represented just by numers, we have changed our icons to make it easier to assess and review. You can evaluate your medications through several different criterias; effectiveness, ease of use, adherance to prescription, side effects, improvement in quality of life and general satisfaction.

You can see how other members have rated the medication and give advice about treatment to others! Useful? We think so too... :)

Additional Medication Information

Assess Medication Visually

We have changed how you can view the overall rating of a medication. We have added a concise and neat summary of each medication where you can quickly discern how others have rated it. This gives you the opportunity to learn how others have reacted to certain treatments and to discuss the different side effects or reactions that you have had.

------------------

We hope that you will find this updated medications unit useful and will be visiting “My medications” page from time to time to share your own experience in order to help others, and to learn more about your current or future treatments.

If you have any questions or need help with this new section, please feel free to contact me!

I'm on about 12/14 tablets daily... I prepare my medicines a week in advance.

This is done via 'pill boxes' (colour and white) with morning, noon, evening and night. I prepare medications usually on a Sunday and ensure they're all completed for at least 7-10 days in advance (Monday to Sunday), and in case any are needed in an emergency etc.

I then keep Monday to Sunday's medication on a shelf in my lounge. On getting up in the morning, I take one box and put it on the lounge table where I usually have tea/coffee first thing. I ensure that I take my medication at the correct times and if going out, I put these immediately into my handbag.

I very seldom miss my dosages; this is now a regular habit!

Hi Tigger, I shall never feel sorry for myself ever again. My heart goes out to you for having to cope with so many different illnesses. Thank heavens for your man!.

One of the reasons I wanted to get in touch with you for is about your chest. I tend to pick up every chest infection that’s doing the rounds and when I went to see my wonderful Consultant Haematologist, Professor Snowden, I told him that I would n’t die of cancer, it would be because of of a chest infection. He suggested a haemagobulin infusion every month. I’ve probably spelt it wrong but it’s a mixture of infections in minute forms or something like that and it’s to build your immune system up. I can’t believe in the difference!. My chest is so much better. I don’t know how long I’m having it for but it’s made the world of difference to me and I would certainly recommend it.

I use those tablet containers too. I don’t know where I would be without it. They say , there is always someone worse off than yourself, when you feel ill and a bit low and I shall certainly be thinking of you. I wished I could have a magic wand to make every ill person well again but that’s never going to happen!!!!. Stay positive and keep your pecker up. You’re in my thoughts, Sharon xxxx
