Well my wife doset box which is supposed to organise her many meds and she still forgets to take take them, go figure. For me, I now can't swallow most pills, so they supply them in liquid and disolvable format, so a doset box not much use. So, I am left with a small wine fridge in the front room and a box next to my desk for the pills. Thankfully most of my medicine is centred around my meals as a diabetic so a reminder in its self to take it!

I very seldom forget to take my medication. After 50 years with epilepsy, the taking of medication has been drilled into me not to forget. I also prepare my meds 3 weeks in advance so I always have in the event of an emergency.

My pump automatically tells me when to replace the sensor and canula. With the number of pills I take the local chemist supplies them on a weekly card divided into 4 times of day - this makes taking the right pills at the right time easy.

I think I’ve already commented on this discussion (although I haven’t been able to confirm this) but have just remembered a tip that was passed onto myself by 1 of my closest friends. I take, on an average day, 15 tablets/capsules and once upon a time, had difficulties in just swallowing 1! My friend suggested that I use a wide bore straw which provides a plentiful flow of water to help, especially the times that require me to take 6-7 at 1 time. This has greatly helped myself; hoping this may help others?

@Somya.P - I use Alexa to remind me when to take my morning and evening puffs. I have other tablets to take for other ailments and she reminds me when to take those as well.

My mum has an Alexa Amazon Echo and she has set two reminders on it for me to remind me to take my tablets.
If she didn't then I'd forget to take them.

I'm lucky because my husband sorts all my medication for me it puts everything in little boxes with Mon to Friday on it, it says on the boxes morning afternoon, evening and bed, also he tells me when to take so I don't forget, he is brilliant because I take so many different ones I think I would forget to take them if it wasn't for him, also there is one I have to take monthly and drink a full glass of water with it, also I wear lymphodema garments he even washes them through for me, he is my absolute god send and when I go out he gets my mobility scooter ready for me, and he walks the side of me so I stay safe when we return he charges it up ready for when I go out again but he is always with me just so I don't get hurt he even carries my walking stick incase I need to go into shops for anything I need but I don't use my rolator much now as I find it harder to walk as getting breathless doesn't help me so I use my mobility scooter more now

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
Medical conditions often come with several medical devices, pills, extra equipment that most others do not have to carry or manage on a daily basis.
What about you? Do you have a special way that you organize your meds or equipment? How do you remember when to take what? What is your favorite "find" or trick that may help someone else?
Feel free to post links or pictures!
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team
