Hello all,

I haven't been on in a while since I've been busy, but with this coronavirus business I've become a bit worried. Since the virus is so hard on the respiratory system I'm worried that my inhalers (I'm on Ventolin and Qvar) are putting me at a greater risk. Do you think we should cut down our use of them? Especially the Qvar? I've heard that steroids really do a number on the immune system. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice?

Thanks.

More so  bored and on Facebook with friends more. I still run my group online and speak to them all once  a day.  Because we can not meet in person and some video chat with me who are alone with health conditions I run a group for hidden disibilties in the community. I am on the autisic spectrum along with my asthma and health needs. I call my 80 year old uncle daily at home too!

Morning everyone, has anyone received their letter from NHS yet? I'm currently on flutiform 250/10 which is on asthma UK list and I am on Doxycycline and prednisolone at moment. I'm anxious I haven't received letter yet as need it for work.

@Amunro I haven’t received anything as yet either I same as you have inhalers on list and been taken prednisolone for past ten days and on and off them since October and like you would need something to prove this to my employer as I work in a care setting . I’m confused and anxious about the whole thing.

Does any one take Montelukast for their asthma, and does it weaken your immune system?

I know Asthma puts us in the vulnerable group (unless it’s severe), but taking steroid tablets puts us in the highly vulnerable group, I just can’t work out which one I’m in.  I’ve googled Montelukast and all I can find out is that it can affect the immune system but not to what extent.  I haven’t had a letter from the NHS but neither has my neighbour who’s on Methotrexate!
