I have mental health issues and so does my partner. I'm her carer, attend appointments with her and keep our house a home so I have no energy left to take care of myself. I'm just looking for someone to talk to, someone who understands...

Hi CazDeFaz. As posted ,I am a carer to my partner who was diagnosed with a terminal illness, leading on to depression for which he spent some time in hospital.

I was also diagnosed with anxiety depression following my now ex committing adultery after 30 years marriage. He was my soulmate + despite myself/family supporting him after being diagnosed as "psychotic/delusional" he refused to acknowledge, accept + embrace help . He married in secret and hasn't been there for his own children for their celebrations in life but more importantly when one suffered 2 brain bleeds.

When I met my new partner, I was in a good place mentally following a very long painful, dark, frightening ,lonely journey.

I still take medication ,along with self help but I have found it hard+ stressful regarding my partners illness and him being hospitalized at the same time as my son being so poorly. He is still receiving medical intervention and is life has been changed.

It is hard to find time to look after ourselves if we are used to putting others before us.

Set time aside just for you each day. You will be no good to your partner/wife if you burn out.

I am in a wonderful place following what I have been through and so I understand how hard life can be having been on both sides of the fence.

I am here for you to talk too, as I do understand the importance of talking.

You can never talk enough. The great thing about this group is the support you receive off people who have first hand experience ; something I do have.

Always here to support you.

Julie x
