Fear has become my main experience of late, ranging from anxiety to sheer terror. At times I disappear into myself and go away at other times I've run away. I get in and out of the bath to feel the warmth on my skin if I get home. I take sleeping tablets to escape, though not for long. I can't connect with things. I don't know how to gauge things anymore. I don't trust my own mind because it's let me down. its difficult to live with.

Just be yourself and stay strong @edmond01 ... My eldest daughter is gay ... you will always have weak minded people who are against you because you are different from them , that is life , you must be strong enough to tolerate these people . Know in your own mind that you are a decent person and have as much right to be on this Earth as everybody else . Your sexuality does not enter the equation . My best wishes to you :-)

@edmond01 Never be afraid of showing who you are. As @xDarenx says, you have the same rights as everyone else and no one can make you feel bad for who you love. If people stoped interacting with you because you are gay then they are the ones that need help. You'll see that you'll find the right friends which will accept you as long as you accept yourself and keep true to you :D Just repeat to yourself "there is nothing wrong with me loving someone" if it is a boy or a girl who cares?!

I hope you find this site of use and that you make lots of friends soon at uni :)

All the best,

Gilda

Finding things so hard now. I feel like I don't know how to live anymore. That I opened a door and there is no floor there.  I get given medications which are poisoning my body and make me walk around and around. Knock me out but stop me sleeping. I don't know who to trust about anything.

That's a very strange combination ,  anti-psychotic , antidepressant and hypnotic ... There are other things you could try or at least discuss with your GP or psychiatrist , A newer tablet called Abilify (aripiprazole) and something like Mirtazapine that would act as an antidepressant and a sleeping tablet as it has sedative effects ... If you needed an additional sleeping tablet , Promethazine is far safer and longer acting than Zopiclone .. with zopiclone you have about a half hour window to get to sleep or after that its sedative effects have worn off . I hope this is helpful , if you are having problems with your current medication it is certainly worth enquiring about . Best wishes to you :-)

Daren :)
