Hi guys,

Today, I've been feeling really down. I slept a lot of the day but just so down. I feel like filth. I wish there was some medication that could help me feel better.

I'm on two anti depressants already.

I try doing activities like playing computer game and reading but I don't have the motivation on these bad days.

Maybe I'll just take my meds and head to bed. It's 8 o'clock now.

Im feeling like this lately. if werent for my husbands and kids support id be in bed 24/7 lately.

I feel better if I get some fresh air and have a walk even if its just up the road and back. it takes alot of motivation for me to even get dressed etc let alone step out of the house.

I hope you feel better soon and your days brighton.  I know its alot easier to say than do but try and go out and get some fresh air. I cant go out by my self most of the time due to axienty but I try my best.

I've been feeling like this a lot lately. If it wasn't for my family and friends i don't know where I would be right now. I sometimes start to feel better when I'm surrounded by friends as it takes my mind of everything that's going on inside my brain. Only helps for a little bit but it makes it a little better.

I hope you feel better soon and your days start getting better. Take care

Hey guys,

I've been feeling a bit better these days. Some days are bad and some days are OK. I wish I could get a better handle of my anxiety and depression. I think because I suffer from anxiety some of the time, it feels bad, but when I look at my day, my anxiety only happens some of the day, and if I distract myself like Sarah says, then I feel better.

I am making movements to add in better distractions in the day, and hope that will keep me positive.

Hi Andrew,

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Have you tried music for distraction, i listen to all sorts of music but what helps me is Hi Andrew,

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Have you tried music for distraction, i listen to all sorts of music but what helps me is the old stuff my kids hate lol. I think of a time when i was happy without all the stresses like my teenage years, its amazing how i can just lose myself in memories and it can calm me right down if the anxiety kicks in. Just stick some music on your phone or whatever and go for a walk.

best of luck

Agree with you there Phil, music is a wonderful distraction from every day stressors, I find it so helpful to walk while listening to some good tunes, enjoy allsorts of music and as you say some songs trigger memories too and they can alleviate anxiety and tension.

Hi Andrew, hope you are felling better today.

When I'm feeling down its like being in a black hole, trying to scratch myself to the top. But I have found clasical music helps me. at first it's like saying omg your listening to old people's music at 46 then I listen to it and it makes me tap my feet, it can be very emotional, strong beats of music followed by soft sounds. I never thought it would work for me but it has. Give it a go, maybe it will work for you too.

I'd second everything people have said about music Andrew. During the day I am permanently connected to Spotify or Deezer. They both do free accounts. You have to put up with ads from time to time but this is a small price to pay to have access to millions of tracks.

Have you ever thought about going a step further and actually learning an instrument ? Some things like a tenor saxophone can be expensive but you can pick up a guitar, mandolin, dulcimer for not very much. If you are looking for ways to fill your time practising an instrument can occupy a lot.

Gosh, Why are so many of us going through this.  Life has taken an awful twist really.  What are we trying to keep up with?  I have been thinking about dieing.  Don't want to kill myself or anything but just in such a bad place that if I dropped down dead I would not be upset!!!  Financial problems, a drink problem landlord wants to sell and no vision for the future so just feels hopeless!!!  I am sure its not but it feels that way.  I have the oppotunity to go to France to stay with friends.  Have no idea where that will actually take me but is the kindest offer I have.  When I end up "dumping" my situation I get take care of yourself of course, cos noone really cares.  I have done everything possible and my last hit is with Citizens Advice Bureau on Wednesday about debts which yes have been made worse by drinking.  But its the only thing that calms me down at the moment!!!  I feel like I can't go on but I seem to be grabbing just a little bit of strength each day x And I am silly I do tend to live a lofe of silence evn though I love music.  Its the simplest thing that seems to be so complicated!!
