Hi all, I've been off work since 6th June (My birthday) after going doolally on holiday :) I left my husband after 21 years of abuse 18 months ago and after a year of peace (ish lol I have 4 kids) my body protested and starting freaking out....I'm climbing back up slowly with the help from my friends and my children and hope I can support others on their journey.

This weekend is a biggy, my partner of almost a year has decided my depression is too hard to deal with and this weekend I'm taking my 6 year old and 2 14 year old girls away camping on my own, anxious isn't the word, I'm borderline dreading it but you know what? I'll do it - and it'll be cracking xxxxx

You are one brave person going camping lol i bet you will love it. I`m a single dad of 15/16 year old girls and anxious is not the word i would use !!! but love em anyway.

How brave you must be to leave an abusive relationship after all those years! I remember when I ended mine and expected to feel better but felt bereft and even more anxious than ever, in fact I psychologically crashed and shut down for a while. On reflection, it was because, during the years of abuse, all of my energy went into surviving and external abuse was easier to cope with than my own internal dialogue of abuse. Be kind to yourself x
