Hey Guys, Also new here.

I've created this account because i've really hit a low point with my mental health & trying to research anything to help me get through it. I'm 20 years old & I just don't understand why I'm depressed you know? Like, I have the most amazing friends, boyfriend, family who are all so understanding, I have a steady job, I drive, I'm independent but I constantly feel so upset & sad, I just don't understand - Hope everyone is well today x (friend requests are welcome, would love to chat)

Hey everyone, I've just joined this site today.

I've recently felt like I have reached a new low with my mental health. I've been looking for a site like this for a while as even though I have wonderful friends and an amazing family there is only so much they can really understand. I've just turned 18 and have suffered with depression and self harm for about 4/5 years although I was only formally diagnosed this year ( this is because I was too scared to admit anything was wrong with me). I'm here to try and get some sort of understanding and help because I'm tired of crying all the time and being sad like I use to be such a happy outgoing person but its like that person doesn't exist anymore. in all honesty I'm tired of this. I hope everyone is doing okay. friend requests and messages are welcome, I'm easy to talk to and can honestly talk about anything for hours.

Hi Lauzy. Great positive post; always good for others to read that life can and will improve...in time.

Little by little ,day by day approach is recommended. Good luck with all your upcoming achievements.

Charlotte-Amber; You have taken the hard steps...Acknowledging that you are unwell and accepting help.  You are now on the path to finding peace within. Depression creeps upon you before you have realized. One minute you can be so happy but before you know it the tears are falling and your mood plummets.

I totally understand what you are going through from personal experience. During my darkest days , I never ever thought that my life would ever change, so dark and lonely was the place that I was in. It was truly horrible.

After having suicidal thoughts , I went to the GP after finally admitting to myself that "I was depressed and I wasn't coping". Although the medication didn't solve my issues, it calmed my frantic mind enabling me to focus on my issues and face them

It was a hard path but today I am in such a wonderful place. I still have low days but who doesn't??

Like me, the happy person inside you will reappear. Take time out for you, no matter how small .

Always here if you need support.

Take Care. x
