Hello everyone,

How are you today? emoticon cute

I thought I would open this discussion to talk about masks.

It can be difficult to adjust to wearing a mask when going out, especially for those with respiratory conditions like COPD.
Do you find it difficult to wear a mask? Does it aggravate or irritate your COPD? What do you do? Do you have any tips or techniques to make it more comfortable? Has your GP given you any advice?

No cant get on with a face mask cant breath it's very uncomfortable I have a face shield it does help

I wouldn't ask my gp advice about masks,i think they have better things to do.

I assume that the majority of replies are from members in England. I live in Ireland where face masks are mandatory with a hefty fine, except for those with COPD and similar conditions. In fact the government website severely suggest that for those, the wearing of masks is NOT recommended if there is a legitimate need to leave the house. I think I would Keel over in rapid order if I was forced to wear a mask as I have stage 3 COPD and can barely breathe at the best of times :-)

SAME WITH ME IV TRIED TO WEAR ONE WHEN I HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPTAL BUT ITS LIKE HAVING A PLASTIC BAG ON MY HEAD I JUST CANT Breathe AT ALL

@mikebpool that's exactly how I felt. Have you tried the plastic frames that go under the mask? That's the only way I can wear a mask.
