Biotherapy and COVID-19: Has the virus had an impact on your treatment?

You are so very right. If you stop any treatment because of a 'flare up' you will become more at risk of contracting the blessed virus, because your body will be 'fighting' the 'flare up' and the virus. It's the drugs that are keeping you on the level, as it were.

@Angeline666 hi im on same medication and variety of others for my heart iv stopped both my PA medications out of fear but have flared up really bad im also very scared and dont no what too do consultant advised i restart but half my methotrexate but im still too scared its a big worry iv been told too shield and have been for 8 weeks i hope you are keeping safe and much love too you all ❤

@richard0804 so its best for me too restart my meds my consultant didmt make me feel very positive about doing so he said was positives and negatives but too halve methotrexate and resart im so so confused my brother passed away from this awful covid i havnt had contact with him or anyone else in 8 weeks as a number of health issues all stay safe

I my opinion  I think that it's very irresponsible of any consultant to leave you not knowing what to do. He should give you a definite answer one way or the other as to what course of action you should take. Personally. I would re-start my methotrexate at the lower dose and build up to to the normal dose by 2.5 mg increments, fortnightly, until I was back at my usual level.

Don't go straight back to your usual dose straight away because it could cause problems.

Ring and check with your GP to make certain.

Hi 

I am on methotrexate and Rituximab, have been self isolating since March,on consultant advise ,I work for NHS admin and am able to work from home thankfully .I am extremely anxious of contracting COVID19,now lockdown easing ,am still not going out .Not sure of government guidelines on vunerable people now.

I hope you and yours are in good health? My wife and I are just about managing? I suffer from many pathologies, 3 heart attacks, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Diabetic Type II, Hyper tension, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Micro Vascular Angina, plus a couple more???...lol...lol 40+ Tablets per day and a minimum of 6 injections a day... I'll not LET THE BAR STEWARDS BEAT ME..  Have a look at my testimonial, if you like?

Think POSITIVE Chris. I have NOT been away from home since the 18th of March. How long must I stay in 'lockdown' Easy... Until I feel safe....  You must do whatever YOU think is right for YOU.
