I am pretty new to the condition and finding it hard to get used to all the new changes/symptoms I would be very grateful to hear any tips you or anyone else may have

Welcome to the forum! I am sure our members will help you. Being diagnosed with MS is very overwhelming, so your situation is understandable.

I highly recommend that you make a new discussion here in the group and post your question :) Since this discussion is about cognitive problems I don't think you will get as much feedback as you could. I think our members will notice your post more if you create a new discussion. All MS patients experience different symptoms, so if you describe some of the things you are struggling with, I am sure the members have plenty of advice for you. And me too ;)

I have been diagnosed 12 years

I find cognitive problems my worst symptom

I just feel so stupid as i had to give up my job

I have started my 3rd medication for m.s.

I was put straight onto Rebif 44 and that worked great for 9 years

But then i noticed my leg draggingso my neuro suggested Copaxone,

I took that for 1yr but got so sick of the injection site reactions

I have been on Gilenya for over a year and im tolerating it well

My last m.r.i. showed no active lesions

lately I have been struggling with cognitive problems. was diagnosed with MS in 2008, but have never really had any problems until 6 months ago. I get a lot of fatigue and I feel that I have a hard time remembering many things. Also learning new things is not as easy. I feel like I am going crazy because I can't remember where I put things. I have always been good at these little things, so it is difficult for me to accept.

@Cablegirl1971 - I have also been on Gilenya for a bit over a year, currently waiting for my MRI check up. I was on Avonex before and had the same problem as you and copaxone - terrible side effects. For me Gilenya has really increased my quality of life! I have suffered a bit from blurry vision lately though, so I am also waiting for an eye exam. My doctor said it could be the Gilenya - I really hope not! Don't want to give up on it :)

hi all

i was d x in 1999 i've never had the sort of relapse that a lot of people get real pain (well aches and sometimes you know the electric shocks that make you scream) oh and just latly a bad back ect ,but maybe just my age 56 ?

oh cant walk except in house without crutches or my scooter

anyway I am fine ..........but...........

my wife doesnt really think I am coping so well ,I still yes look aftwr my 10 year old son ,but she is a bit concerned ,just because I do things like burn the saucepans and cook chicken in the microwave ,oh and a lot of othr things ,

it;s  SORT OF CATCH 22 PROBLEM ,where I think everything is fine but mt wife doesnt ,i know i do have cognetive problems but .....i am honistly fine ,well i think i am ,do you believe me or my wife 

please explain why you think that ,i try to be logical about things and the way i se it it's just a normal man thing to always get things wrong ,oh i'm also a horrible person as any fiends i make it is never long before i upset them 

and my youngest daughter believes i was borne without an empathy gene ,any comments welcome ,i won't be offended

Your obv very angry as a man you think you should be providing for your family

Maybe cool it a bit with your anger and do something fun with your kids

sorry if I sounded angry, I'm not really, how can I be when there is nothing wrong with me, I still play football with my youngest son, it's just nono I get used as a goal post, lol no actually I do loads with him, it's so nice having a 10 year old as it makes it o k for me to behave like one. Kids I don't have a problem with. . . Just grown ups!
