I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. personally I wear flat shoes with a wide fitting. I never pick shoes that go to a point as this causes increased pain in the toes if they are cramped. I also wear an orthosis to help with Achilles tendonitis that I got from a podiatrist. Would your GP not refer your daughter to an orthotist for an assessment?

You can get shoes made to measure but these are expensive. You don't say how old your daughter is but Evans do a range of fittings up to triple EEE so it may be more viable to buy two pairs in different sizes. Your go can also refer your daughter to a foot clinic where they can arrange more help. Good luck in your search and let me know how you get on.
